An Artist in the Garden is the month-by-month story of a year in a magical, 200-year-old walled kitchen garden, told by the author who grew up there and depicted by an artist who spent three years painting it.
 
In 2008 the celebrated Suffolk artist Tessa Newcomb began a residency in the walled garden at Glemham House in East Suffolk. This beautiful house has been in the Gathorne-Hardy family for nearly a century, and, unusually, almost all the principal elements of its late-Regency design have survived intact. The garden is an inspirational place where plants, people and food thrive.
